BOWLES pt.1
I’m currently embroiled in a two month project designing and animating 30 short segments for a feature documentary about Paul Bowles. Almost all stopframe shot under a home made rostrum on a home made multiplane. Also temporarily renting a real nice studio from connie where I have set myself but one rule:

It has not been very strictly followed. Anyway I’ll do a better post about this project in a couple of weeks when I’m not quite so up to my proverbial neck in ‘it’.
BOOL

A bool is a bike and a stool, a wholly original invention. You can use it in the office it or ride it around town. As you can see on the right it has full suspension. Most people who have tried it report that though it is physically comfortable it makes them “feel uncomfortable” but i still have high hopes for future patents so any investors who are interested in funding and distribution please get in touch.
CITIZEN
Sometimes it’s easier to let other people blog about the work that you’ve been doing and the simply LINK to it. Cheers Michelle and Johannes…
That link is to photos of the shoot and below is a crummy move test with no sound that in some ways I find preferable to the finished product which was a film we made for Citizen Relations. You can also see the fancy one with lots of lights and crew and expensive cameras and a 3m tall goddamned paper bird HERE, at the Citizen website.
YOUNG GOLD
A couple of months ago I spent hectic but thoroughly entertaining few weeks helping out Jojo and Michelle of Y-U-K-I-K-O / Gescwhister to get this promo for Mechanical Bride made. We brewed sugar glass, extracted rocket fuel from household goods, froze a 15 liter ice cube and cooked some geil lekker food together, amongst other entertaining if sometimes gruelling activities.
We’re also in post production on another new film featuring a giant stop motion bird right now so more on that soon…
DEJA DEATH BEAST
Brand new Beastie Boys remix promo! It’s been a long time coming and I’m a little on the late side but happy birthday Tom Rimmer, for 29th Apr 2010. This is one of four ace remixes, hear them all here.
Just A Test by the Beastie Boys
Remixed by Deja Death
Animation by Robin Bushell

DOG

There’s some sort of fixation I have with animating animals running in circles. If anyone has any clues on what this says about my psyche then feel free to make a character assessment then let me know, but otherwise simply enjoy the running doggy.
This is just a line test for a section in a promo I’m working on, all finished in the next week-ish so keep on the edge of those seats.

See No Evil talk August 2nd!
I’ll be flying back if I can and if not then big boy Matt Layzell and living legend Danny Boyle will provide your entertainment. Love these nights and it’s an honour to be invited to do one. If you’re in London in August and you like music, drink and film then head on down…
